The seemingly endless stretch of farmers' fields that flank both sides of the Grand Trunk Trail have now been harvested and all that is left is the gorgeous expanses of after-harvest orange glow. But it was not all farmer's fields as we walked by some gorgeous freshly minted homes.

This portion of the Headingly Grand Trunk Trail is part of the Forest Enhancement program. This project helps forests become more diverse and productive, The program also funds tree plantin projects which are very much needed in the area.

Along the trail, grasshoppers, were plentiful and there was an abundance of wild flowers and birds. There were a few hilly areas on the side of the trail that were ideal for mountain biking. This is a peaceful, open trail, with very little bike and foot traffic.
