My Dining Horror Stories in Las Vegas - Denny's

So I am enjoying Vegas for the first time in my life and while I can think of some good things to say about Sin City, I can think about a lot of bad things , especially the food. We decided to visit the Denny's on the strip for breakfast - a late breakfast. It seems like most everyone visiting Vegas had the same idea. Line ups were long and the wait was abound 20 minutes but we decided to stick it out.

As a vegan, I was happy to see there was a grilled vegetable dish on the menu that came with egg whites. I ordered it without the egg whites and would you know  after awaiting another 15 minutes inside to be served, it came with the eggs. I returned it, apologies from the server were graciously accepted and I waited for my re-made dish.

Would you believe that the dish came back, minus the eggs or so I thought. The dish did look like it was dug through and beaten up to some extent and when I decided to put my suspicions to the test by looking through the vegetables, there were chunks of eggs to be found hidden between the vegetables.

By now I was not happy with Denny's in Vegas. How sloppy can a well known eatery like Denny's be? Now I am hungary and tired and again told the server that there was still eggs in the dish. She called a supervisor/host  who said that they should have it re-made the dish not just scrape the eggs off and that she will get it redone in 2 minutes.

So for the 3rd time the dish came and I knew it was re-done as it was still sizzling in the pan. But they made yet another mistake. I had initially ordered toast without butter. When they did the dish the also redid the toast and this time it was buttered. By now I am too tired to complain anymore. I passed the toast unto my pardner who had long finished his serving of pancakes, eggs and the works and was waiting for me.

And after all of that Denny's charged us for the full order. When I went to pay my bill the nice cashier asked how was everything. I told her I was dissatisfied with the service and she said she will take 25% off the bill. The supervisor  made no apology for the poor service but at least the cashier had the good sense to reduce the bill even though by a pittance.

I left Denny's with a bad taste in my mouth. Granted I never though much of Denny's even in my hometown and hadn't been to one for several years. The poor service I received at Denny's on the Las Vegas strip just reminded me why I disliked Denny's so much, but with limited options for breakfast close to the hotel, I decide to give them another try. Never again Denny's!

St Malo Provincial Park ©Ashauntae(2020) St Malo Beach Having just acquired our first motorhome , it was time to start planning trips to campgrounds. We would start  in Manitoba and work our way across Canada and eventually to the United States. To our surprise available campgrounds were in short supply. It seems like due to COVID-19 and stay at home orders, campgrounds had become a high demand commodity. ©Ashauntae(2020) Tiffen Allegro Motorhome With perservance we managed to find three nights in the St Malo Provincial park in mid July.
